OLD THEATRES has become recognised as Britain's unique magazine for everyone who appreciates the value of our country's wonderful halls of entertainment and the artistes who have trod their boards. Three beautiful highly collectable editions are produced each year, under the Patronage of Ken Dodd OBE, Duggie Chapman MBE, and by Nick Thomas, Chairman of Qdos Entertainment, the world's most prolific pantomime producer. OT is rapidly developing a cult following, not only in Britain but from theatre devotees world wide. It gets wonderful reviews from theatre organisations everywhere, including The Theatres Trust, whose aim is to protect theatres for everyone.
It features 'lost' theatres, old theatres which have been restored, stories of artistes' experiences in them. together with extra information which is not normally obtainable in other theatre publications. Each highly collectable edition contains over 100 rare illustrations and articles about theatres past and present, enabling subscribers to go behind the scenes to see how they operate, and read their histories and hopes for the future. Space is also given for readers' and artistes' memories and experiences within theatres, so that each issue becomes part of our history, recorded for future generations to cherish and pass on.
We acknowledge with gratitude the work of all local groups and organisations, reference libraries, collectors and preservation societies who help us to perform this worthwhile and essential task.
Everyone who helps in the production of OT magazine is a volunteer and include retired journalists and authors who are eager to ensure that we all do our best to keep Britain's theatres 'alive'. Your imput is important to us, and we urge everyone to do their best to promote and support us in this worthy quest.
Many theatres and theatre production promoters also support OLD THEATRES within their own marketing, which is much appreciated. Advertising space is available in each edition of the magazine from as little as £7 for a 35 word announcement. Space is also allocated for display advertising in full colour or in mono.
